Engine current condition - Unrestored, non running

Gardner 5LW engine. 78hp @ 1500rpm. This engine is an early model, cast iron crankcase example of this legendary British engine marque. Originally an industrial engine, this engine is awaiting a total restoration and conversion to an agreed specification (Can be rebuilt to suit customers needs Marine, Automotive, Rail Traction etc).

The conversion to marine specification includes the addition of electric start 24 volt standard, 12 volt optional upgrade, fitting of a marine rear end exit exhaust manifold and the fitting of marine type engine mounting feet. The engine is also fitted with thermostatic temperature control.

This engine can be supplied as engine only or with a choice of appropriate gearboxes and adaption kit.
